City living is convenient and attracting millions of people from rural areas every year in search of jobs and a better life. The reality is that many of these migrants end up living in squalor and poverty and are no better off. The rich continue to get richer and the Planet suffers even more as the carbon footprint of cities increases exponentially.

As an architect, Gaurang Khemka is usually commissioned to work on high end LOHAS-oriented residential and tourism projects, but his passion lies in sustainable urban planning and trying to figure out a better way of making today’s cities work on a human and planetary scale.

Gaurang Khemka is an architect with a specialization in Urban Design and Resort Planning. He has over 15 years experience of working in North America, Europe and Asia and has worked across a range of scales and contexts, from master planning and programming public institutions to detailed design of high end resorts and residences. He understands the essence of place making and the qualities that create some of the world’s finest insti- tutional, hospitality, commercial and residential projects and combines that with his management skills to deliver a product of the highest quality.
